Lauren Crosse

Vice President
Helping others has always been important to me. I feel that it is important to give back, and what better way to do so than with a cause I believe so strongly in?

Where do you live?

Conowingo, MD

Where do you work?

I am a former elementary school teacher. I taught 3rd grade for 3 years and 1st grade for 6 years. Now I am a full-time mommy while tutoring a few evenings a week and substitute teaching as often as I can.

Where did you go to school?

I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Salisbury University in 2005 and a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from Towson University in 2010.

What path led you to working with Pushing Pink Elephants?

A dear friend of mine (and Founder of Pushing Pink Elephants) was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 31 and was a new mommy at the time.  Through Erin’s research and encouragement, I was introduced to many new lifestyle changes that I wanted to embrace in an effort to be as conscious about my health as possible. Cancer has also touched my life through my grandmother, grandfather, and more recently, my mother.  It has now become my mission to not only be my healthiest self, but to also inspire those in my life to do the same.

What excites you most about the work of Pushing Pink Elephants?

I am most excited about seeing what the future holds for Pushing Pink Elephants.  I am so excited to be a part of this organization and cannot wait to see where the future takes us!

How is serving on the Board of Pushing Pink Elephants helping you to achieve your personal goals?

Helping others has always been important to me. I feel that it is important to give back, and what better way to do so than with a cause I believe so strongly in? I am excited to share all the information I have learned over these few years, and know that even if we reach someone in the smallest way possible, it was all worth it.

What do you want to accomplish by serving on the Board?

My hope is to reach as many people possible in order to share the mission, goals, and research of Pushing Pink Elephants. I want to help people to be their best self and spread awareness of risk factors for breast and ovarian cancer.

What personal interests are you passionate about?

Spending time with my husband, son, and daughter is what I find most enjoyable. I also love to cook, practice yoga, and enjoy the process of turning my newly built house into a home.

Where can we find you on a typical weekend?

On a typical weekend, I am most likely spending time with family and friends.  Weekends are family time for us where we can create lifelong memories for our kids.
