Pushing Pink Elephants

Pink Washing is when a company or organization claims to care about breast cancer by promoting a pink ribbon product, but at the same time produces, manufactures, and/or sells products that are linked to the disease.

We see pink washing everyday but especially during October, breast cancer awareness month. Be mindful of where your money is going and who will benefit from your purchase before buying one of the many pink ribbon products.

Greenwashing is when an organization claims that their product is safe, when it actually contains chemicals that are harmful to people and the environment. Corporations engage in this practice to preserve and expand their market share. Look for products that are truly safe and support the organizations that are honest and upfront with the ingredients in their products.
