1.) Support of Families (examples* include)
Book giveaways - we will be continuing a program that started in 2014 with Johns Hopkins to distribute "Kicking Cancer in the Kitchen" to patients undergoing treatments. We want to thank Guyette & Deeter for their generous donation in 2014 that helped us kick off this program and we are excited to continue this in future years.
PUSH baskets - a program that started in 2015 will benefit individuals who are undergoing chemo treatments. Patients will receive baskets of small gifts prior to starting their treatment. The number of gifts will correspond to the number of chemo treatments with the idea that each chemo day a gift can be opened that will bring a smile to someone's life. The gifts could be a book, lip balm, bath salts, natural soaps, comfy socks etc. and will include a personal note of encouragement.
Adopt a family - will directly help a family who is dealing with a cancer diagnosis during the holidays. This could include gift cards to purchase family presents, toys, clothing, groceries, etc.
2.) Education (examples* include)
Health fairs and events where we share our mission and educate individuals/families about safer products and changes that can help create a healthier lifestyle.
Seminars that share information on cancer prevention. These could be hosted by Pushing Pink Elephants or done by an individual in their community or workplace
3.) Research in cancer treatment and prevention
Research and treatment options are always changing and the cost to fund a trial or study can be costly. Sometimes these trials are the last hope for someone dealing with a terminal diagnosis. Examples* include:
