Pushing Active Lives

Studies show that performing simple exercises after breast surgery, lymph node removal, or breast radiation can help reduce the side effects of treatment. Exercise can also decrease recovery time and help you return to your normal activities.

Breast surgery will typically leave your shoulders feeling stiff. Doing arm exercises can help alleviate the stiffness and extend your range of motion. There are a number of post-breast surgery arm exercises detailed in this section (*source www.about.com). Please note that you should always consult with your doctor before starting any exercise program.
